Written from the stands
PandavikSonicPicnic is an independent almanac of football fan culture. It is written by a small team of lifelong supporters who between them have stood on terraces, sat in away ends and queued for pies in more countries than they can comfortably count. We follow different clubs, argue about most things, and agree on one: the atmosphere of football belongs to the people who create it.
Our aim is to explain and celebrate the traditions supporters take part in every week, from the songs and the banners to the fanzines and the trusts. We write for fans of any club, and for anyone curious about why a stand full of strangers can sound like a single voice.
How we work
- ResearchWe check dates and origins against club histories, books, archives and supporter groups. Where a story is folklore rather than record, we say so.
- IndependenceWe are not affiliated with any club, league, federation or betting company, and we do not accept payment for coverage.
- InclusionWe write for every supporter and leave out material that targets anyone for who they are.
